Glamping at the farm

A canvas tent that knows how to spoil you.

The Canopy is a canvas wall tent tucked into the trees at the edge of our working farm. There's a private hot tub, a real queen bed with soft linens, a wood-burning stove for cool nights, and a back deck that looks out over nothing but forest. No neighbors in your sightline, no agenda — just the kind of quiet you came here for.

The experience

Arrival, evening, morning.

Three moments that sell the stay before you ever read a spec list. The Canopy is built for slowing all the way down.

Arrival

The path in sets the tone

String lights line the walk to the tent from the moment you arrive at dusk. The hot tub is already warm, the fire ring is laid and ready to light, and a lantern is waiting by the front door — grab it for the trail or leave it glowing at the entrance. The walk in feels like arriving somewhere on purpose.

Evening

Soak under open sky

Slip into the private hot tub with string lights overhead and farm sounds all around you. Inside, the wood-burning stove crackles and warm light glows above the queen bed. Out front, chairs circle the fire pit — grab a s'mores kit at the farmstand — and the hammock in the trees is waiting for that last hour of golden light.

Morning

Coffee, deck, nothing else

Step onto the private back deck — all forest, no other sites, no one in view. Trade the lantern for a Keurig coffee and listen to the farm wake up: roosters first, then goats, then the whole barn coming alive for the 9:30am feeding. The back deck was made for a slow cup of coffee and absolutely nothing else.

Good to know

Show up with groceries. We've got the rest.

No need to pack linens, towels, a coffee maker, water bottles, or a flashlight — it's all here, lanterns included. Bring your groceries for the mini fridge and gas grill, a s'mores kit (or grab one at the farmstand), and layers in cooler months — the wood stove is cozy, but canvas breathes.

The tent is a short walk in from parking, which is part of what makes it feel so removed. It sits at the edge of the farm, so you may hear roosters in the morning — not a complaint, per our guests.

The farm difference

A working farm, steps from the tent.

The front of the tent faces the farm, where you'll spot animals through the trees. Wander over for the daily feedings at 9:30am and 6:30pm — all glamping guests are welcome at the barn. Highland cattle, goats, pigs, a donkey, chickens and ducks are all part of the morning ambiance.

Absolutely the most adorable camping experience. Being able to interact with the animals was amazing — we loved watching the feeding times and learning about all of them. We will be back!

Outside Inn has moved to #1 on my favorite campground list. I can't say enough about the genuine hospitality from the family. It's a definite do-again destination.

No matter what you're looking for in a campground, Outside Inn has it. Clair and Chris were the best hosts and our kids had a blast. Beware — a stay here may spark your farmer dreams!
