The experience

Arrival, evening, morning.

Three moments with the family. The front porch deck is the heart of this stay — it's where the evenings happen and the mornings start.

Arrival

Open the door and settle in

Pull up and walk in — it's already set up and ready. Linens are on the beds, the kitchen is fully stocked, and towels are in the bathroom. The kids will claim their bunks before you've finished unloading the cooler. Nothing to assemble, nothing to figure out.

Evening

The front porch is where it happens

Cook dinner in the full kitchen — propane stove and oven, everything you need — then carry it out to the deck and eat with the farm in front of you. Light the fire ring, hand the kids the marshmallows, and watch the Highland cattle graze at dusk while the string lights come on overhead.

Morning

The kind of morning no one wants to leave

Coffee on the deck with a full farm view — cattle, goats, open sky. Then it's a 30-second walk to the 9:30am feeding, kids at the fence with the animals. Back inside, scramble eggs on the propane stove with the toaster going and the whole kitchen at your disposal. No one asks to go home yet.

The farm difference

Your neighbors for the weekend.

The deck looks straight out over the pasture, so the animals are right there from your chair. Walk over for the daily feedings at 9:30am and 6:30pm — all guests welcome — and let the kids meet the Highland cattle, goats, pigs, a donkey, chickens and ducks. It's the part families remember long after the trip.

No matter what you're looking for in a campground, Outside Inn has it. Clair and Chris were the best hosts and our kids had a blast. Beware — a stay here may spark your farmer dreams!
